Daniel Warren conducted the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and soprano Kimberley Enns through this huge, Mahlerian composition. Warren had the musicians sizzling, popping and crackling.   Warren and the KWS are to be praised for their excellence and dedication to contemporary music. Conductor Daniel Warren led the symphony through the note-dense score. Sounding luscious and regal, Warren accomplished his task.

“… guest soloist Robin Lynn Braun put her entire heart and soul and flair into a noble reading of Mozart's Fourth Violin Concerto. Daniel Warren led this selection with musical maturity and Mozartian grace.”

“…however, the best performance of the evening was when Warren put down his baton and picked up his flugelhorn to play Gershwin’s “embraceable you”, a crowd favourite.”

“Conductor Daniel Warren’s arrangements were tasteful and dynamic. His rapport with the orchestra was easy one the communication between himself and the players was excellent.  He was also a genial and really funny host.”

Daniel Warren conducted a full concert for me with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. It was a big programme and we had not worked together before. After some phone conversations we headed to Denver. Any concerns I might have had were quickly dashed when he stepped onto the podium to rehearse the orchestra. The respect from the orchestra was palpable. That says it all.  Daniel handled the rehearsal and the performance with aplomb and total efficient professionalism. We delivered a great concert and I was able to truly perform the songs trusting that Daniel understood the breadth of emotion required. I would work with Daniel Warren ANYTIME. And I must mention the added bonus of his fierce sense of humour!!!!!!

"We at Jeans 'n Classics have worked with Daniel Warren as our conductor for about twelve years.

We have taken the stage together  about 150 times performing everything Led Zeppelin and Queen to operatic pop.

Dan has always approached our concepts and material with enthusiasm and care and a sincere open mindedness as we have tried so many new and varied musical ideas.

He has always welcomed our band, singers and guest artists in a warm and gracious manner allowing everyone their space and scope within the bigger picture.

His approach, attitude and pliability have helped create a very successful Electric Thursdays series at Centre In The Square with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony.

He also plays a mean trumpet..."

“Daniel Warren was a pleasure to work with when he conducted orchestras with us (Holly Cole band) at Roy Thompson Hall and the NAC in Ottawa. He had a knack for simultaneously hearing what was happening in the band and in the orchestra and connecting the two. He also had a good understanding of what I was trying to achieve in my orchestral arrangements and conveying it to the orchestra in the very short rehearsal time that we had.”
Aaron Davis, Music Director for Holly Cole
